Clearly explaining the traffic impact for a proposed Tesco development at Southend was crucial to securing planning permission. Councillors in the town needed to get to grips with the impact the new store would have on the local roads. By importing verified Vissim transport data into our VUITNOW 3D model, we were able to visualise the actual traffic flows within a realistic 3D road network. We could demonstrate the impact of the existing and proposed traffic and this played a key role in convincing the committee to grant full planning permission.
"With help from Wagstaffs, we showed traffic flows on the actual road network that they were familiar with. The 3D model was a valuable tool to convince the politicians to support the scheme. I would highly recommend the use of VUITNOW again where it can be used to portray issues which are difficult to get across through other mediums."
